BrightSteps is Kayak Collection’s comprehensive Behavioral Management and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program, designed to support individuals with developmental and behavioral needs in achieving meaningful, lasting progress. Rooted in evidence-based practices, BrightSteps focuses on understanding the “why” behind behavior and using that insight to build positive, functional skills while reducing behaviors that interfere with daily life.
Through individualized, data-driven intervention, we help clients increase independence, improve communication, and enhance their ability to function successfully at home, in school, and in the community.
Our program is delivered through a structured, tiered clinical model aligned with California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and Regional Center standards. Services include Behavior Analyst (Service Code 612) oversight, where certified professionals conduct comprehensive functional assessments and design individualized behavior intervention plans; Associate Behavior Analyst (Service Code 613) support, providing ongoing program implementation and evaluation under clinical supervision; and Behavior Management Assistant (Service Code 615) services, delivering direct, hands-on intervention in natural environments. Together, this integrated model ensures that each individual receives consistent, high-quality care focused on skill acquisition and the reduction of challenging behaviors.
BrightSteps services are provided in real-life settings, including the home, school, and community, where behavior change matters most. Our team works closely with families, caregivers, and support systems to ensure alignment, consistency, and long-term success. By combining clinical expertise with compassionate, individualized care, BrightSteps creates a clear pathway for individuals to build essential life skills, improve daily functioning, and live safer, more independent, and more fulfilling lives.
The mission of BrightSteps is to improve lives by delivering high-quality, evidence-based behavioral services that help individuals build functional skills, reduce challenging behaviors, and achieve greater independence across home, school, and community environments.
